The Masai Mara is especially famous for the Great Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular natural events. Every year, more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles travel between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara in search of fresh grazing land. This incredible movement also attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs and crocodiles, making the reserve a top safari destination.
Visitors to the Masai Mara can spot the “Big Five” — lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos — as well as many other species of birds and animals. One of the most memorable experiences is taking a sunrise hot air balloon safari, which offers breathtaking views of the endless savannah and wildlife below.

If you’re going on a Masai Mara safari, “add-on experiences” are extra activities you can book alongside your normal game drives.
